FAQ

In India masala means spice, and chai means tea. Essentially, Masala Chai is Spicy Tea!

Masala Chai is a tea made by combining boiling black tea with milk, water and a mixture of aromatic herbs and spices. Masala Chai Tea may have originated in India, but it has gained worldwide popularity, and become a feature in many coffee and tea houses.

No, we do much much more. We offer a range of authentic Indian teas including: Kashmiri/Pink Tea, Karak, Ginger and more. We also have snacks available to serve with the tea.

Karak tea has a strong flavour and a beautiful caramel colour. It is an aromatic, spiced tea that is famous for its unique taste. It’s similar to Masala Chai, but with less spices. You could make a Chai Karak with just tea, milk and sugar.

Also known as Pink Tea, Kashmiri Chai is a milk tea with a dusty pink colour. It’s distinct pink colour comes from brewing it with green tea leaves and baking soda, and then mixing it with milk. Delicious!

Our teas are made from natural ground spices, black tea powder, cinnamon, cardamom, ginger and lots more Indian spices. Our recipes have been perfected by us, as home, meaning we’re able to guarantee authentic taste and perfect freshness.

Snacks were invented to accompany tea drinking (probably), so of course your tea setup will also include snacks. We provide biscuits, rusks and even traditional Gulab Jamun.

A popular and cherished traditional Indian dessert. Gulab Jamun is a small, round sweet ball.

Typically when you book our Chai Tea Service you’ll also be booking us to serve your beverages and snacks. However, if you would like to arrange a smaller setup please get in touch.

If you are limited on space and would like an indoor home setup, without the cart, that can be arranged. Our prices are reflective of hiring the cart, so if you would like to book a table set up, without cart, please send us a message for a quotation.

We are located between the borders of Nottingham and Derby, but travel across the UK to provide garam chai (hot tea).

As well as our Chai Cart setup and service, we also currently offer several extras including: personalisation, such as colour schemes and name tags; and sample tea delivered to your home.
